Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. in Boise, ID is seeking a Process Support Engineer (PSE) to guide products through lifecycle with on-site installations, diagnostics, and service of advanced semiconductor equipment.

You will collaborate with customers and R&D teams to develop leading-edge processes and conduct DOE experiments. The role requires at least 5 years in the semiconductor capital equipment field, a STEM degree, and willingness to travel about 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM field required.
• Minimum 5 years in Semiconductor Capital Equipment or similar high-tech industry.
• Preferred experience 3+ years in Applications or Process Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between the customer and the Business Unit for assigned projects, ensuring clear understanding of customer issues and delivery of applicable solutions.
• When necessary, work with the customer to optimize tool performance to meet process and integration requirements.
• Inspect and verify operational quality of system equipment; instruct customers in operation and maintenance.
• Provide on-site installation support, and oversee diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
• Analyze process and tool data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and support decision-making.
• Deliver clear written and verbal communication to customers and internal stakeholders; prepare and deliver presentations on findings, progress, recommendations, and technical updates.
