Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks engineers to advance manufacturing processes across composites, machining, and tooling. You will work with concurrent engineering to produce Build-to-Packages and review shop floor docs, ensuring safety and quality in daily operations.

The role involves root cause investigations, presenting technical reviews to leadership and customers, and supporting qualification and implementation of new tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field; 0–2 years for Level 1, or 2+ years for Level 2.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Good organization and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and instill a strong safety culture in daily operations.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes across composites, machining, and tooling.
• Support manufacturing operations including composites, machining, rubber layup, bonding, coatings, and complex assemblies.
• Perform root cause investigations to eliminate defects using RCA tools.
• Collaborate with concurrent engineering to create Build-to-Packages and review shop floor documents.
• Prepare and present technical reviews to leadership and customers.
• Conduct Preproduction reviews with operations team.
• Monitor production events and apply SPC for process control.
• Develop process improvements and troubleshoot issues.
