Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Sunnyvale, CA, seeks an Engineer Manufacturing or Principal Engineer Manufacturing to develop and optimize manufacturing processes and tooling. You will work with skilled assembly mechanics, machinists, welders and engineers to improve production efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience; OR a master's degree with 1 or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Experience with machining and machine shops.
Experience with mechanical assembly processes, welding and machining.
Experience in technical writing.
Ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Develop new processes, improve existing manufacturing processes, and develop tooling with a team of experienced assemblers and engineers.
Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
Evaluate existing processes to reduce cost and improve sustainability.
Develop efficient process flows and BOMs and create detailed work instructions and tooling requirements emphasizing safety and maintenance.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and new capital equipment implementations.
Some roles will support final acceptance testing and provide technical support to test facilities.
