Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a Process Engineer to support the Promontory, Utah plant. You will help develop and optimize manufacturing processes across composites, machining, and coatings, while ensuring safety and quality.

You will serve as first-line support for process issues and work with design and planning teams to improve outcomes. The role demands strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, with experience interpreting blueprints and GD&T.

Qualifications

• B.S. in STEM engineering or related field with at least 2 years' related experience; master's degree reduces required experience to 0.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Strong problem-solving, oral and written communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience interpreting blueprints and GD&T standards; proficiency with CAD tools.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Instill a strong safety culture in daily operations.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes.
• Support composites manufacturing, machining, rubber layup, coatings, and complex assemblies.
• Serve as primary contact for operations personnel on process-related issues.
• Perform root-cause investigations to permanently eliminate defects.
• Create and update shop floor planning and work instructions.
• Present technical reviews to leadership and customers.
• Monitor production events and use SPC for process control.
• Assist in tooling or equipment qualification and implementation.
