Job summary

IDEX, the global engineering and manufacturing company, is seeking a Process Engineer for its Mott operations in Farmington, CT. You will partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Project Engineering to develop and improve safe, capable manufacturing processes that meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities include creating work instructions, controlling plans, and transferring new products into production while reducing costs and improving quality, delivery, and process capability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related engineering.
• 2+ years of process/manufacturing engineering experience or equivalent.
• Ability to solve technical problems using structured methods (5 Whys, FMEA, 8D).

Responsibilities

• Support daily production by troubleshooting process and equipment issues to restore stable operation.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, routing, BOMs, and control plans.
• Evaluate manufacturability, establish build parameters, and transfer products into production.
• Collect and analyze process data to identify bottlenecks and waste; implement improvements.
• Create process controls meeting specs and quality systems requirements.
• Participate in root-cause investigations and corrective actions for nonconformances.
• Support tooling, fixturing, and capital projects with validation documentation.
• Collaborate with operators, maintenance, quality, R&D, and others to improve capability.
• Apply safety-first practices including risk assessment and lockout/tagout.
• Build SME in assigned area and cross-train in adjacent processes.
