Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Process Engineer Intern to join the Process and Mechanical group in the Bakersfield, CA office. You will work under close supervision to assist senior engineers, designers, and drafters on design tasks and calculations related to energy projects.

This internship develops practical skills through designing, modeling, and documentation activities, with exposure to process simulations and PFD/PID drafting. Expected to learn in a collaborative, real-world setting.

Qualifications

• Engineering student pursuing Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel/Word/PowerPoint) desired.

Responsibilities

• Supports project team in development of design documentation, plans and reports for relevant project design elements.
• Assists in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
• Prepares and revises first draft of documentation in various project phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
• Assists with the development of technical equipment specifications required for a project.
• Attends project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
• Performs basic calculations using standard company and manufacturer software.
• Works as part of a multi-discipline team to ensure design intent compatibility.
• Familiarizes with Stantec's quality control guidelines and relevant codes.
