Job summary

Stantec in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to process and power plant projects. You will perform design calculations, prepare documentation, and support field and office teams across the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will have a mechanical engineering degree, 5–10 years of experience, and familiarity with ASME/CSA/API standards. Remote or hybrid work may be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5–10 years of detailed process and/or power plant engineering experience.
• EIT or professional registration is a plus.
• Strong understanding of ASME, CSA, API, TEMA, ASTM, NACE codes and standards.
• Experience with developing design documentation and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead small to medium complexity projects within a project team.
• Develop design documentation, plans and reports for project elements.
• Assist in design development through sketches, diagrams and models.
• Apply codes and standards accurately in all work.
• Prepare and revise mechanical documentation across phases.
• Support client meetings and cost estimating activities.
