Job summary

Parker Hannifin in Woburn, MA is seeking an engineer to maximize cost effectiveness and reliability across manufacturing flow, processes and equipment. You will determine operation sequences for new and existing products, ensure equipment meets safety and quality standards, and design fixtures and implement capital equipment projects.

This role requires hands-on work, collaboration with division managers, and leadership of manufacturing improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and DOE/ SPC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering field required.
• 2-4+ years of practical process knowledge in elastomer or extrusion manufacturing.
• 4+ years in a manufacturing environment is strongly desired.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use automated measuring tools.
• Hands-on project work without supervision.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, project management, FMEAs and quality systems preferred.
• Familiarity with APQP control plans and PPAP validation is strongly desired.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required for certain positions.

Responsibilities

• Refine and enhance processes using Lean principles to improve production.
• Identify and implement safety, quality, productivity, and cost-reduction solutions.
• Develop solutions to complex manufacturing problems with advanced processes.
• Implement zero defect quality initiative across product lines and processes.
• Improve efficiency by planning workflow, space, and equipment layout.
• Prepare documentation for new processes and engineering procedures.
• Assure product and process quality by testing and establishing standards.
• Determine root causes using DOE and SPC to guide changes.
• Evaluate capital equipment investments and manage equipment projects.
• Share specialized knowledge and represent the company on projects.
