Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Manufacturing Operations team across Lewiston, ID; Pullman, WA; or West Lafayette, IN. You will identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, enhancing safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will work with production and other teams to troubleshoot issues, implement process improvements, and use data-driven methods to drive reliable performance.

Qualifications

• You have a B.S. in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• You have two years' experience in process development in a related world class manufacturing company.
• You can lead a cross functional team.
• You can influence others and reach consensus.
• You have project management experience.
• You have knowledge of statistics as applied to process capability measurements.
• You have effective writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• You can work cooperatively in a team environment.
• You have background check results satisfactory to SEL.
• You have negative drug test result(s).

Responsibilities

• Providing engineering support in multiple areas of manufacturing.
• Specifying, developing, justifying, implementing, and sustaining assembly equipment and materials.
• Improving quality, yield, efficiency, and capacity of processes in accordance with strategic objectives.
• Applying statistical problem solving to identify root causes.
• Evaluating new equipment and processes and process improvement activities.
• Interpreting results and providing recommendations to management.
• Keeping abreast of new developments in equipment, industry standards, best practices, and developments in assembly processes.
