Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a self-driven engineer to join our Lewiston, ID team as a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer focused on quality, data analytics, and process improvement. You will collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and support groups to enhance product quality and reliability throughout assembly and testing.

The role emphasizes testing design, data-driven analysis, root-cause investigation, and cross-functional problem solving, with growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Math/Statistics or equivalent experience
• 2+ years in quality engineering, process improvement, or data analytics
• Strong facilitation, organization, and communication skills
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of quality tools and process improvement techniques (FMEA, Six Sigma, PDCA, Lean Manufacturing, Control Charts, Histograms, Pareto)
• Knowledge of applicable industry standards
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement tests to monitor quality using engineering principles
• Acquire and analyze data using standard quantitative methods to facilitate process analysis and improvements
• Partner with stakeholders in understanding problems and investigating root cause
• Ensure the implementation of effective solutions to prevent recurrence
• Initiate and facilitate cross-functional meetings to address quality issues and brainstorm solutions
• Facilitate internal/external audits and certification activities, as applicable
