Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Lead Manufacturing Engineer in Lewiston, ID to drive manufacturing readiness, process improvement, and NPI execution. You’ll lead cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and product groups to ensure safe, reliable, and economical production, while mentoring rising engineers and shaping manufacturing technology strategy.

Qualifications

Engineering background with manufacturing expertise.
Experience leading projects and cross-functional teams.
Experience with PFMEA, process capability analysis, Lean manufacturing transformations.
Experience with manufacturing software platforms (Jira/Confluence/Microsoft Project) is desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead manufacturing readiness for new products, guiding teams through planning, risk reduction, validation, and production launches.
Drive organizational alignment, best practices, and execution of complex projects on schedule and budget.
Analyze product and process designs using Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, and Automation principles.
Lead root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives across facilities.
Mentor developing engineers and build engineering capability across the organization.
Shape future manufacturing with new engineering technologies, analytic approaches, business systems, and operational strategies.
Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance affecting manufacturing performance.
