Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Process Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes across our Lewiston, ID site, with opportunities in Pullman, WA or West Lafayette, IN.

You will identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and safety, work with cross-functional teams, and apply data-driven continuous improvement to deliver reliable results in a world-class manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of experience in process development in a world-class manufacturing company.
• Ability to lead a cross-functional team.
• Strong influencing and consensus-building skills.
• Experience in project management.
• Knowledge of statistics as applied to process capability measurements.
• Effective writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Background check satisfactory to SEL.
• Negative drug test results.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support in multiple areas of manufacturing.
• Specify, develop, justify, implement, and sustain assembly equipment and materials.
• Improve quality, yield, efficiency, and capacity of processes.
• Apply statistical problem solving to identify root causes.
• Evaluate new equipment and processes and drive process improvements.
• Interpret results and provide management with recommendations.
• Stay current with developments in equipment and assembly processes.
• Model and apply SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
