PSI Pax, Inc. in Pittsburgh is seeking a Process Engineer for a direct-hire role at our chemical manufacturing plant.

The position focuses on optimizing processes, conducting plant trials, and evaluating existing processes to improve safety, quality, production, and cost. The role includes developing design recommendations, supporting capital projects, participating in PHA activities, and providing technical leadership to engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering required.
• 1–5 years of Process Engineering or similar manufacturing experience.
• Experience with chemical manufacturing processes and equipment preferred.
• Apply chemical engineering principles to troubleshooting, optimization, and design.
• Understand Process Safety and participate in PHA activities preferred.
• Root-cause analysis and practical problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of statistical design and evaluation methods.
• Strong collaboration across Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform process optimization studies, plant trials, and evaluations of existing processes.
• Develop process design recommendations and engineering scope for improvements and capital projects.
• Support engineering assignments for capital projects and process improvements.
• Evaluate technical problems and develop practical design solutions.
• Participate in PHAs and other Process Safety activities related to changes and operations.
• Prepare calculations, documentation, and deliverables for projects.
• Define engineering approaches, plan and schedule engineering work.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and technicians.
• Support on-time completion of project activities within schedule and cost.
• Apply maintenance knowledge to troubleshoot equipment and improve reliability.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and plant leadership.
• Initiate process improvement ideas and drive viable opportunities to projects.
• Support continuous improvement aligned with plant objectives.
• Maintain SHE policy compliance and safety standards.
