Pittsburgh Glass Works seeks a Process Engineer to enhance production line processes. This role focuses on applying advanced engineering techniques to simplify operations and increase efficiency.
Candidates should have knowledge of Six Sigma, experience in the automotive glass industry, and strong problem-solving skills. Responsibilities include designing process modifications, developing project plans, and ensuring equipment operates optimally. The job is based in Crestline, Ohio, combining office and plant floor working conditions.
The Process Engineer is responsible for utilizing advanced Engineering principles to improve production line processes with a goal of simplification for our Operators and Leads. This person will partner with our other Engineering team members working in the center of plant in the Engineering hub. Experience using Six Sigma to improve processes preferred. Knowledge of glass cutting, edging and bending for the automotive industry would be beneficial. Exposure with and responsibility for process equipment, upgrades, new equipment installations, and other technological enhancements supporting the facility and manufacturing processes is desirable. A working knowledge of computer aided‑design equipment and computerized processes is preferred. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to communicate effectively with operators, peers, management and vendors.
Ability to trouble‑shoot, analyze and resolve mechanical problems, plan, organize and share information. Ability to work independently and manage projects to established timelines.
