Job description

Core duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties, as required. Position will focus on project management, process improvement, new product launches, equipment and process optimization, vendor management as defined below.

  • Executing capital projects, ensuring cost, schedule, and performance goals are met or exceeded. This may vary from owning portions of a large project to sole ownership of a project
  • Ownership of project justification, completing payback analysis, and authoring requests for capital funds
  • Developing preliminary concepts, budgetary capital estimates, and timelines for new products, projects, and improvements
  • Assisting in and / or developing vendor bid packages and final vendor selection for purchased parts and services in collaboration with procurement team
  • Periodically providing status updates on project progress and issues
  • Investigating manufacturing problems in the plants and recommending corrective actions. This includes consulting with production personnel, analyzing the supporting data, recommending corrective actions, and following through on recommendations to evaluate their effectiveness
  • Drives achievement of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of assigned projects
  • Coordinating training and start-up activities of new equipment and processes
  • Manage capital, labor, parts, contracted services and expense budgets
  • Replacing/adding production capabilities by adding or modifying equipment
  • Establishing equipment SOP's and maintenance practices to place assets in a precision state
  • Modifying equipment and processes to automate manual tasks to improve capacity and/or reduce cost
  • Completing IQ / OQ / PQ process for new equipment installations when necessary.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • Basic understanding of engineering principals - knowledge of engineering disciplines: Process, Packaging, Electrical, Mechanical and Automation
  • 2-5 years of project management experience
  • Able to work collaboratively with other functional groups
  • Excellent communication and team skills (verbal, written and presentation)
  • Ability to take ownership of projects, to work independently and make autonomous decisions when necessary
  • Understanding design for reliability and total cost of ownership principals
Desired Qualifications, Skills, Education and/or Experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD and PLC Programming is desirable
  • Understanding of Business – financial justification of projects
  • Analytical skills – data visualization and decision making
  • Ability to read engineering drawing
  • FMEA exposure
  • Project schedule development and management
