Job summary

ZRG Careers is seeking a Process Engineer in Kernersville, NC to support production lines and drive continuous improvement. You will optimize processes, reduce cycle times, and ensure quality compliance across manufacturing operations.

The role collaborates with the manufacturing manager to manage schedules, source materials, troubleshoot issues, and coach a team of associates in a non-climate controlled plant environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related).
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, process optimization, and quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, CMMS/EAM tools (SAP PM, Maximo, Infor EAM).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement programs to optimize producibility, reduce cycle time, and cost.
  • Conduct process and product audits, ensuring adherence to quality programs.
  • Monitor and measure manufacturing performance metrics; introduce new techniques to improve quality and reduce waste.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance cost, delivery, and efficiency.
  • Participate in product strategy, development, and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing manager to manage schedules, order raw materials, troubleshoot production issues, and provide direction to operating teams.
  • Share supervisory responsibilities for a team of associates, including coaching, training, attendance management, and performance oversight.
  • Other duties may be assigned

Job description

The Process Engineer provides technical support for assigned processes and product lines,

ensuring operational efficiency, quality compliance, and cost reduction. This role combines

engineering expertise with leadership responsibilities to optimize production, reduce cycle times,

and drive continuous improvement

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedures, and work instructions in English.
  • Ability to complete basic reports and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers in English.
  • Ability to perform basic math, including measurements and simple algebra.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions and troubleshoot routine issues in English.
  • Strong focus on quality, productivity, and safe equipment operation.

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional electrical components.
  • Moderate to high noise; hearing protection required in designated areas.
  • Non climate controlled environment with seasonal temperature changes.
