Job summary

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC), part of Tenet Healthcare, is seeking a Procedural Scheduling Coordinator to manage patient scheduling across departments. You will coordinate with physicians, offices and hospital staff to ensure timely, accurate scheduling of procedures and resources.

Ideal candidates have strong communication and data management skills, with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Two years of scheduling experience (or related).
• Analytical skills to assess and plan for optimal surgical schedules and data reporting.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to communicate with hospital staff and patients.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Familiarity with hospital scheduling systems and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Schedules clinical procedures with correct site, procedure and supplies.
• Schedules and registers patients by phone, organizing patient and facility needs.
• Communicates with physician offices to manage block time and changes.
• Oversees Scheduling Department in absence of lead or manager.
• Partners with leadership to optimize capacity utilization and scheduling insights.
