Qualifications

• Education: 4-year college/university degree or equivalent (180 quarter units or 120 semester units).
• Experience: 2 years if in contract/research/policy/program development in probation setting, or 3 years in criminal justice related field with contracts, public information, training, budgeting, program planning, evaluation or policy analysis.
• Substitution: Masters degree may substitute for two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Review national meta-analyses and research on evidence-based probation programs.
• Analyze program data and provide guidance and recommendations.
• Conduct literature reviews and data analyses for RFPs and research reports.
• Evaluate AB 109 programs to measure effectiveness.
• Develop policies and procedures for Probation based on research and data analyses.
• Perform budgeting and related work as required.
• Coordinate with community-based organizations and other stakeholders.
• Develop independent program recommendations aligned with department strategy.
• Advise management on impacts of new initiatives and ensure smooth implementation.
• Prepare management reports and provide technical assistance as required.
• Represent Probation in meetings with advisory groups and training officers.
