Job summary

County of Santa Clara's Custody Health Services seeks a Senior Research and Evaluation Specialist to plan, direct, and advance research and evaluation activities across departmental programs. You will develop best-practice models, oversee grant-related work, and collaborate with external partners to share research resources.

The role requires expertise in quantitative and qualitative methods, report writing, and presenting findings to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree or higher in Public Health, Public Administration, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Services, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Three (3) years of full-time experience conducting research, evaluation, or related activities in an academic or professional setting, including one completed research project with dissemination/publication and one professional presentation.
• A Doctoral Degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of required experience.
• Ability to travel and pass a background check as required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Leads research, evaluation, and assessment studies and cost-benefit analyses for agency programs and community needs.
• Assists in defining research agendas, goals, and measures for program evaluation.
• Implements funded studies in compliance with funder standards.
• Develops and manages research grants and contracts.
• Coordinates monitoring and evaluations of services and develops designs and procedures.
• Identifies grant opportunities and supports grant writing activities.
• Prepares reports and presents findings to diverse audiences; contributes to publications and conferences.
