Qualifications

• Education: four-year college or university degree (180 quarter units or 120 semester units).
• Two years of journey-level professional experience in contracts, research, policy or program development, or training in a probation setting.
• Alternatively: three years in criminal justice field with related duties.
• Masters degree substitution can replace two years of experience.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, contract, direct, administer and implement Probation programs and community-based initiatives.
• Lead program design and development using evidence-based practices and best practices.
• Monitor, evaluate and adjust program designs for compliance and effectiveness.
• Prepare reports, proposals and publications communicating findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with departments and community organizations to implement funded programs.
• Represent the department in meetings and provide training and technical assistance.
