Job summary

Castaway in Burbank, CA is seeking a proactive Facilities Manager to oversee daily operation and maintenance of our restaurant and event venue. You will ensure facilities are safe, clean, and fully operational to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

You’ll develop preventive maintenance programs for building systems and commercial kitchen equipment, coordinate with contractors, manage budgets, and support event operations from setup to teardown.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Facilities Manager or similar in hospitality or event venues.
• Experience maintaining commercial kitchen equipment and coordinating service providers.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration, cooking equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and asset management.
• Solid understanding of workplace safety, food safety, and building compliance.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of the restaurant, event spaces, commercial kitchens, bars, outdoor areas, and surrounding property.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for building systems, plant, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Coordinate servicing and repairs of all commercial kitchen equipment with contractors and service technicians.
• Manage maintenance budgets, quotes, and purchasing.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, food safety, fire safety, and building regulations.
• Supervise contractors, cleaners, landscapers, and maintenance service providers.
• Conduct routine property inspections to identify maintenance issues before they become operational problems.
• Support event operations by ensuring venues are prepared before, during, and after events, including lighting, furniture, audio-visual equipment, and building services.
