Job summary

CareNow, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks an X-ray Technician - Medical Assistant PRN to join our urgent care team in Garland, TX. You will perform imaging studies, collect patient data, and support front-desk duties as needed to keep the clinic running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of clinical experience, valid radiology tech license (GMRT/LMRT/NCT) in-state, and BLS certification. EHR experience and ongoing credentialing will be favored.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting.
• Experience using an EHR system.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (BOTP) or equivalent is required.
• GMRT/LMRT or NCT license required in state of residency.
• Current certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) preferred.
• Current BLS Certification required within 30 days of start.
• Must obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collecting lab specimens, performing EKG’s, and administering IM injections.
• Perform all x-ray/imaging services according to provider’s orders and updates patient charts accordingly.
• Collect patient history and documenting EHR appropriately.
• You may apply splints, dressings and bandages.
• Assist with check-in/check-out when needed including auditing charts.
• Maintain records and logs on activities including in-house lab work, drug screens, and lab work sent out to other labs.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
