Job summary

AdventHealth in Lake Mary, Florida seeks an experienced ultrasound technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic exams on a PRN schedule. You will verify patient history, position patients, and obtain optimal images per radiologist orders. Documentation in EMR/PACS and patient communication are essential.

You will work with radiologists and staff to ensure timely imaging and patient care, while adhering to infection control and safety standards across all ages.

Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge of ultrasound physics and anatomy to perform independent procedures.
• Must be able to use computer systems and Microsoft Office.
• Read, write and speak conversational English and communicate with patients clearly.
• Learn Radiology software and PACS; keep registries up to date.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams per orders and protocols.
• Verify patient identity, history, and exam appropriateness prior to scanning.
• Position patients and adjust transducers to obtain optimal images and data.
• Document findings accurately in EMR and PACS.
• Explain procedures to patients and ensure comfort and privacy.
• Maintain infection control and use PPE; clean equipment after use.
• Collaborate with radiologists to ensure appropriate imaging and care continuity.
• Prepare exams for radiologist interpretation and complete worksheets.
