Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of ultrasound physics and anatomy to perform procedures to Radiologist standards.
• Proficient in Doppler techniques, specimen verification, and patient-prep.
• Experience using PACS/EMR and radiology software for documenting exams.
• Strong communication and patient-care skills across all ages.
• Licensure: BLS and ARRT/sonography credentials as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality ultrasound exams per orders and protocols.
• Verifies patient identity and exam appropriateness; gathers history.
• Positions patients and equipment to acquire optimal images.
• Documents results accurately in EMR and PACS; assists dictation.
• Explains procedures to patients and maintains privacy and comfort.
• Maintains infection control standards and PPE usage.
• Operates imaging equipment safely; collaborates with radiologists.
• Ensures rooms are clean, stocked, and equipment is maintained.
