The role requires knowledge of ultrasound physics, Doppler techniques, and cross-sectional anatomy; experience with radiology software and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Technical or vocational training preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams per orders and protocols.
• Verifies patient identity and exam appropriateness prior to scanning.
• Positions patients and equipment; optimizes images and data.
• Educates patients about the exam and ensures comfort and privacy.
• Operates ultrasound equipment safely; maintains infection control standards.
• Documents findings in EMR and PACS; supports radiologist interpretation.
• Maintains exam rooms, supplies, and participates in quality checks.
• Collaborates with radiologists and healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care.
