Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams per orders and protocols.
• Verifies patient identity, exam appropriateness, and collects medical history.
• Positions patients and equipment to obtain optimal images and data.
• Maintains accurate documentation in EMR and PACS.
• Explains procedures to patients and ensures comfort and privacy.
• Completes exams promptly to maintain workflow.
• Operates imaging equipment safely and adapts for all ages.
• Follows infection control standards and uses PPE.
• Follows department time-out procedures and consent requirements.
• Collaborates with radiologists and healthcare providers for continuity of care.
• Ensures exam rooms are stocked, clean, and safe; notifies inventory when low.
• Analyzes ultrasound images and data for radiologist interpretation.
• Completes radiology worksheets with clear exam findings.
• Maintains licenses and registries up to date.
