Job summary

Cascadia EE LLC seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with speech, swallowing, cognition, and related disorders in a sub-acute facility in Washington. Work under physician guidance to implement individualized plans and monitor progress.

The role requires licensure, CPR, and experience in long-term care; strong collaboration with rehab and nursing staff is essential, with attention to HIPAA and timely documentation.

Qualifications

• Current knowledge of effective speech therapy techniques.
• Familiarity with clinical needs of geriatric population.
• Strong clinical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Screens and evaluates patients/residents and develops appropriate care plan.
• Under a physician's direction, provides direct patient/resident treatment based on established plan of care.
• Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and/or swallowing or cognitive problems.
• Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instructs residents/patients, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
• Completes required forms and clinical records in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
• Documents in patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.
• Provides comprehensive and compassionate therapy services in a sub-acute/skilled nursing facility setting.
• Works collaboratively with other rehab therapists and nursing staff in a supportive team-working environment.
• Maintains resident/patient privacy pursuant to HIPAA.
• Ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.
