Job summary

Cascadia EE LLC in Seattle, WA seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with speech, swallowing, and cognitive-communication needs in a sub-acute/long-term care setting. You will develop and implement treatment plans under physician direction.

The role requires licensure in Speech Language Pathology, CPR certification, and at least six months of LTC experience; strong clinical skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Current knowledge of effective speech therapy techniques.
• Familiarity with clinical needs of geriatric population.
• Strong clinical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Screens and evaluates patients/residents and develops appropriate care plan.
• Under a physician's direction, provides direct patient/resident treatment based on established plan of care.
• Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and/or swallowing or cognitive problems.
• Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instructs residents/patients, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
• Completes required forms and clinical records in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
• Documents in patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.
• Provides comprehensive and compassionate therapy services in a sub-acute/skilled nursing facility setting.
• Works collaboratively with other rehab therapists and nursing staff in a supportive team-working environment.
• Maintains resident/patient privacy pursuant to HIPAA.
• Ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.
