Job summary

Cascadia of Lewiston in Idaho is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with speech, swallowing, cognitive, and communication disorders in a sub-acute/skilled nursing setting. Under physician-guided plans, you will perform assessments, develop treatment plans, document patient records, and collaborate with rehab staff.

Applicants should have a BS in Speech Language Pathology, current state license, CPR certification, and preferably six months of long-term care

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
• Current license in Speech Language Therapy as required by state law.
• Valid CPR certification required.
• Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screens and evaluates patients/residents and develops appropriate care plan.
• Under a physician's direction, provides direct patient/resident treatment based on established plan of care.
• Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency.
• Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instructs residents/patients, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
• Completes required forms and clinical records in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
• Documents in patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
