Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Respiratory Therapist (PRN) to join our respiratory care team. The role involves delivering oxygen therapy and ventilatory support, performing diagnostic procedures, and collaborating with the care team to optimize patient outcomes.

Required credentials include NBRC-registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), current state licensure, and BLS; an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy is required, with BA/BS preferred.

• Excellent communication with healthcare team and patients.
• Ability to problem-solve, make decisions and delegate as needed.
• Knowledge of growth and development appropriate to patient population.

Responsabilités

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and equipment; conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures.
• Administers and evaluates therapeutic procedures; performs diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates and monitors respiratory support including ventilators (mechanical and non-invasive).
• Evaluates current therapies and makes recommendations on plans of care and education.
• Documents therapies and results; communicates with healthcare team.
• Performs blood sampling analysis and interprets results for treatment decisions.
• Operates independently across care areas and uses electronic medical records effectively.
• Adheres to safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements and proficiency evaluations.
