Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Associate’s RRT or RRT Equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the NBRC.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in North Carolina.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct respiratory care per physician orders/protocols.
• Consults physicians on therapy effectiveness and makes recommendations.
• Maintains ventilator support and other CP life support equipment.
• Maintains and properly utilizes respiratory care equipment.
• Documents therapy and results in EMR and communicates with the healthcare team.
• Responds to emergencies and adjusts therapy as needed.
• Works independently across patient care areas and adheres to safety/regulatory requirements.
