Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) PRN to join the San Antonio, Texas team. You will assess and treat patients with pulmonary disorders and manage respiratory care modalities.

You will operate ventilators, provide emergency care, analyze ABG values, follow physician orders, monitor therapy response, and collaborate with physicians and staff to plan patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• 1-year previous Respiratory Therapy experience preferred
• Must possess a current Texas license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Must possess NBRC credential (RRT) or CRT before July 1, 2002 (Grandfathered CRT)
• BLS upon hire and ACLS within 90 days of employment
• PALS or NRP within 90 days if required by department

Responsabilités

• Operate and set up devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration, aerosol generators, and disposable respiratory care products per treatment parameters.
• Provide emergency care including artificial ventilation, external cardiac massage, and assist with CPR.
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases and interpret values for appropriate interventions.
• Follow physician orders for treatment and evaluate requirements (type, mode, duration, precautions, dosage).
• Monitor patient response to therapy via vitals, ABG, breath sounds, SpO2 and EtCO2.
• Consult with physicians and nurses to adjust plans of care and work as a team.
