Job summary

The Village of St. Edward is seeking a Resident Assistant/STNA (Caregiver) on a PRN, as-needed basis at the Fairlawn Campus. The role focuses on personal care and assistance in daily activities for residents within a memory care/assisted living environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, STNA certification if hired as such, and a compassionate, professional approach. Prior assisted living experience is preferred, with reliable transportation and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Ohio State Tested Certified Nursing Assistant (STNA) if hired as a STNA.
• Experience within assisted living facility preferred.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must lift, push and pull 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Dexterity to feed, bathe, etc.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach at different angles.
• Walks, stands, and sits intermittently throughout the day.
• Must understand infection control performance.
• Must utilize therapeutic communication.
• Must communicate professionally and with empathy to residents, families, visitors and coworkers
• Required to make independent decisions.
• Required to assist in response to emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide for the personal care needs of residents and assist as delegated by the nurse.
• Assist in daily activities to support memory care residents.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents.
• Document and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Resident Assistant/STNA (Caregiver) provides for the personal care needs of residents and provides assistance and activities as delegated by the nurse.
