Job summary

The Village of St. Edward is a not-for-profit assisted living and memory care community in Wadsworth, Ohio.

We are seeking a Resident Assistant/STNA to provide personal care and daily activities for residents during the day shift, on a part-time 8-hour schedule. Responsibilities include assisting residents as directed by nursing staff, maintaining a compassionate environment, and communicating effectively with residents, families and teammates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ohio State Tested Certified Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification if hired as a STNA.
• Experience in assisted living facilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care for residents as delegated by the nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Communicate with residents, families and coworkers with professionalism and empathy.

Summary Of Position

In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Resident Assistant/STNA provides for the personal care needs of residents and provides assistance and activities as delegated by the nurse.

Requirements:

• High school education or equivalent
• Ohio State Tested Certified Nursing Assistant STNA (if hired as a STNA)
• Experience within assisted living facility preferred
• Reliable transportation
• Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Possesses the necessary dexterity to feed, bathe, etc.
• Possesses the ability to bend, stoop, and reach at different angles.
• Walks, stands, and sits intermittently throughout the day.
• Well-lighted, well-ventilated rooms and halls.
• Must understand infection control performance.
• Must be able to utilize therapeutic communication.
• Must communicate professionally and with empathy to residents, families, visitors and coworkers
• Required to make independent decisions.
• Required to assist in response to emergency situations.
