Job summary

The Village of St. Edward, a not-for-profit senior living community in Ohio, is seeking a Resident Assistant/STNA for the Green Campus. The position covers the afternoon shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM), 32 hours per week, with alternating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care and activities delegated by a nurse, observing safety and infection control, and communicating with residents and families. A STNA certification is required if hired as STNA.

Qualifications

• Must have High School education or equivalent.
• Ohio STNA certification required if hired as STNA.
• Experience in assisted living preferred.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Resident Assistant/STNA (Caregiver) provides for the personal care needs of residents and provides assistance and activities as delegated by the nurse.

Requirements:

High school education or equivalent

Ohio State Tested Certified Nursing Assistant STNA (if hired as a STNA)

Experience within assisted living facility preferred

Reliable transportation

• Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Possesses the necessary dexterity to feed, bathe, etc.
• Possesses the ability to bend, stoop, and reach at different angles.
• Walks, stands, and sits intermittently throughout the day.
• Well-lighted, well-ventilated rooms and halls.
• Must understand infection control performance.
• Must be able to utilize therapeutic communication.
• Must communicate professionally and with empathy to residents, families, visitors and coworkers
• Required to make independent decisions.
• Required to assist in response to emergency situations.
