Job summary

Elior North America is seeking a PRN Registered Dietitian to join our healthcare and food service team at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. The role involves assessing nutritional needs, initiating interventions to maintain nutritional status, and enhancing quality of life in line with patient goals.

The position is typically scheduled for 8–16 hours per week, offering opportunities to contribute to patient care and nutrition program effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition (prior to 2024) or related field.
• Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or eligible under Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education every five years, per CDR.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards for comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents' rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to the health care team and educate patients, residents, staff, or consultants.
• Follow the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with departments to set up procedures and policies related to dining service and nutrition.
• Participate in development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.
