Job summary

Mercy Health Anderson Hospital is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room to join our perioperative team. The role supports surgical care, ensures patient safety, and requires strong organization and leadership to assess patient status and coordinate care.

The RN will provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative care, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and maintain a safe operating room environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing.
• Two years of RN experience in Critical Care Department (preferred, not required).
• Completion of OR internship program (preferred, not required).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS Basic Life Support; ACLS or PALS preferred/required based on department.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment.
• Observe the surgery and surgical team to maintain a safe environment.
• Manage nursing care in the OR and coordinate needs with other providers.
• Provide pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care, including discharge instructions.
• Other duties as assigned.
