Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room at West Hospital in an inpatient surgery setting. The role requires providing comprehensive perioperative care from pre-op to post-op, collaborating with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Education includes an accredited nursing degree and active RN licensure. BLS/ACLS or PALS are preferred, with CNOR and SGNA credentials optional.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS Basic Life Support and ACLS or PALS (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source).
• CNOR Certified Perioperative Nurse (preferred, not required).
• SGNA membership (preferred, not required).
• Two years of RN experience in Critical Care (preferred, not required).
• Completion of OR internship program (preferred, not required).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment.
• Observe the surgery and surgical team and assist to create a safe environment.
• Manage nursing care within the OR and coordinate with other care providers.
• Provide pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care including discharge instructions.
• Other duties as assigned.
