MUSC Health in South Carolina is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT). Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of patient care experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required on hire and maintained.

Responsabilités

• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized.
• Assist patients with daily needs (hygiene, restroom, grooming).
• Monitor vital signs and patient condition.
• Assist nursing staff with basic treatments.
• Ensure rooms have adequate patient care supplies; linen clean.
• Assist patients with issues or needs.
• Provide emotional support.
• Place patient on cardiac monitor.
• Empty drains, ostomies, Foley bags.
• Perform blood sugar checks.
• Assist with other duties assigned by department leader.
