Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in Camden, SC. The role focuses on measuring vital signs, assisting with daily patient needs, and maintaining a clean, comfortable environment for optimal patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, preferably CNA credential, and BLS certification. This PRN, hourly position requires strong communication and empathetic patient interaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of patient care experience in a health care facility or CNA preferred.
• BLS certification required upon hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized.
• Assist patient with everyday needs (hygiene, using the restroom, grooming, etc.).
• Monitor vital signs or EKG signals and patient condition.
• Assist nursing staff in administering basic treatments.
• Ensure rooms have adequate patient care supplies, linen is clean.
• Provide emotional support and assist with patient needs.
