MUSC Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nurses under RN supervision. The role focuses on measuring vital signs, assisting with daily patient needs, and maintaining a patient-centered care approach in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, assisting with basic treatments, providing emotional support, and ensuring proper supplies and cleanliness in patient rooms. High school diploma and BLS are required; nursing program enrollment is preferred.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
• One year of patient care work experience in a health care facility or CNA is preferred; must be enrolled in a nursing program and have completed Fundamentals of Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire and must be maintained thereafter.

Responsabilités

• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized.
• Assist patients with daily needs (hygiene, restroom, grooming).
• Monitor vital signs or EKG signals and patient condition.
• Assist nursing staff in administering basic treatments.
• Ensure rooms have adequate patient care supplies and clean linen.
• Assist patients with specific issues or needs; provide emotional support.
• Place patient on cardiac monitor.
• Empty drains, ostomies, Foley bags.
• Perform blood sugar checks.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by department leader.
