Job summary

Medical City Surgery Center Allen, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a PACU Nurse for ambulatory surgery. You will care for patients postoperatively, ensure airway safety, monitor vitals, manage IV lines, and assess discharge readiness. ACLS and BCLS are required; PALS may be needed depending on facility requirements.

Qualifications

• RN qualifications including active license and BCLS certification.
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire; PALS if required by facility.
• PACU/ICU or Surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare care area and ensure equipment and supplies are available.
• Demonstrate airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients per policy (vital signs, etc.).
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks.
• Perform head-to-toe evaluations using approved scoring systems.
• Check dressings and report abnormalities to surgeon.
• Provide a safe, comforting environment and verify discharge criteria.
