Job summary

Medical City Specialty Surgicenter of Dallas, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN PACU Nurse to join our ambulatory surgery center team. You will provide postoperative nursing care, monitor patients, and support safe discharge under the center’s policies.

The ideal candidate has an RN license, 1+ year PACU/ICU or surgical experience, and current BCLS; ACLS/PALS as required. This PRN role offers flexible scheduling within a supported, patient‑centered environment.

Qualifications

• RN license required by state of employment.
• 1+ year of nursing experience in PACU/ICU or Surgery preferred.
• BCLS certification required upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire; PALS if required by facility within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients' care area and ensure equipment and supplies are available.
• Demonstrate airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients per policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac).
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks.
• Perform and document head-to-toe assessments using approved scoring system per policy.
• Check dressings and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
• Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and family.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
