Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a PRN Patient Care Technician for the Delnor Neurology Unit. The role is part-time, with a commitment of four 12-hour night shifts (7p–7:30a) within a six-week cycle, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Nursing students who have completed one clinical rotation, or must be certified as a Certified Nursing Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician.
• CPR – Basic Life Support (BLS) via American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, and eating.
• Monitors vital signs and records intake and output.
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Maintains clean and orderly patient rooms.
• Prioritizes unit work and communicates with staff effectively.
