Job summary

MedStar Health in Indian Head, MD seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide patient-focused care across all ages. You perform therapies, monitor equipment, and document results in the electronic medical record.

This PRN role requires 4 shifts in a 6-week cycle, night shifts 7 PM–7 AM, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. A Maryland-licensed CRT and CPR/NRP within 90 days are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in respiratory care required.
• Registry eligible required.
• Maryland license to practice may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy treatments per physician orders and standards.
• Assess patient needs and document educational requirements.
• Operate and monitor ventilation, oxygen, humidity and related equipment.
• Maintain safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across shifts.
• Review electronic medical records and physician orders during shifts.
• Respond to CPR events and participate in resuscitation as needed.
• Support interdepartmental workflow and propose improvements.
