Job summary

MedStar Health in Silver Spring, MD seeks a Respiratory Therapist to deliver patient-centered care per physician orders. Part-time day/night shifts rotate weekends, with 7AM-7PM and 7PM-7AM availability.

You will support ventilators, oxygen therapy, and related procedures while documenting thoroughly and adhering to safety standards. Requirements include an Associate's degree in Respiratory Care, CRT or registry-eligible, and DC licensure.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in respiratory care required.
• Registry eligible required.
• ACLS/NRP/PALS and other certifications may be required within a year where applicable.
• Must maintain license to practice Respiratory Care.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care per physician orders and standards.
• Assess patient needs including physical, psychosocial and educational requirements.
• Perform therapies and manage equipment: oxygen, ventilation, bronchial hygiene, spirometry, EKG, BGA.
• Communicate with patients and families; document findings clearly.
• Review EMR and orders; monitor patient progress during shift.
• Respond to CPR events and assist with airway management as needed.
• Improve workflow and interdepartmental processes; comply with safety standards.
• Other duties as assigned within scope of position.
