Job summary

MedStar Health in Maryland seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide patient care across all ages under physician orders and according to established standards and protocols. This PRN role supports 4 shifts every 6 weeks, including night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with responsibilities spanning assessment, airway management, ventilator support, and precise documentation.

MD licensure and CRT are required; ACLS/NRP/PALS certifications may be required within a year where applicable.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of acute care experience required.
• Registry eligible required.
• CPR certification required or within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care as ordered by physicians using established standards and protocols.
• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs and document accordingly.
• Operate and monitor respiratory care equipment (ventilators, bronchodilators, spirometry, blood gas analysis, EKG).
• Respond to code situations and participate in CPR with airway management and ventilation.
