Job summary

MedStar Health in Maryland is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide age-appropriate respiratory care per physician orders according to established standards and protocols.

This PRN role requires 4 shifts over a 6-week cycle with night hours (7 PM–7 AM). You will assess patients, operate and monitor equipment, document care, and participate in CPR when needed. A two-year minimum education and state licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in respiratory care is required.
• Bachelor's degree in related healthcare field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides respiratory care per physician orders following standards and protocols.
• Assesses patient needs across physical, psychosocial, educational dimensions and documents.
• Operates and monitors respiratory care equipment and services (oxygen, humidity, ventilators, etc.).
• Communicates effectively with patients and team; participates in CPR and resuscitation as needed.
• Reviews electronic medical records and orders each shift; supports department goals and safety standards.
• May support workflow efficiency and interdepartmental processes; adheres to policies.
