Job summary

Memorial Hospital Belleville and Memorial Hospital Shiloh are seeking a PRN Night Registered Nurse to join the Special Float Pool, rotating across ICU, ED, and Medical Telemetry. You will float between campuses with a minimum of 3 shifts every 6 weeks, including one weekend, and receive float and shift differentials.

The role emphasizes flexible scheduling, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and opportunities for growth through the BJC RN Career Ladder and Thrive Well-Being resources

Qualifications

• Two or more years of ICU and/or Emergency Department experience.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (PALS preferred for ED).
• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills.
• Proficiency in IV therapy and management of complex patient populations.
• Ability to adapt quickly while delivering exceptional patient-centered care across multiple clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
• BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
