Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist for the Ruidoso Draw Site. The role operates with minimal supervision, covering phlebotomy and related lab tasks across modalities as assigned, with apprenticeship options for those new to the field.

Regular in-person attendance during scheduled hours is essential. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent; ASCP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a relevant Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain supplies and inventory for department.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Demonstrate problem-solving to ensure patient care and service levels.
• Handle on-call hospital communications as assigned by location.
• Demonstrate effective telephone and verbal communication skills.
• Use professional judgment with clients and co-workers.
• Perform clerical tasks including documenting communications in supervisor's absence.
• Protect confidentiality of information.
• Participate in on-call coverage to meet service levels, including holidays/evenings/weekends.
• Maintain basic PC skills.
